A bee swarm settle in an antique oak barrel used for a decoration of my friends front yard. During little more than two months the bees build a combs inside this barrel and released at least one swarm. We took the barrel apart and transfer the bees to a regular beehive with langstroth frames. The bees did not had any brood, but had at least three hatchet bee queen cells, most likely they had young queen, so we did not used any their comb. We put one frame with brood from another beehive, few weeks later the queen was already laying eggs. What did you think?
