…and in the morning…turn over easy…
hey this is kinda like the thanksgiving one!
MERRY XMAS TO ALL
Hey lovey you left the Christ out of Christmas – or did you mean something else
hick * or something else
merry X-mas
Please stand corrected! It is MERRY CHRISTMAS or otherwise there would be no use for it!
it is “Merry Christmas” for all the right reasons being that, of the Birth and Celebration of “Jesus Christ” ….A time for all to get warm and fuzzy about Family and Friends and to remember to give the invisible and mostly forgotten Gift Of All…. “The Gift of Peace”…. without prejudice. To be as one with All Mankind!!!! Peace On Earth and Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!
@MEZA- THANK YOU and may you and yours be blessed.
Yeah, it is Merry CHRISTMAS……if anyone wants a Merry X-MAS, they can celebrate it at any other time……But for this season, CHRIST is the Reason for the Season.
MERRY CHRISTMAS………Shallom!
Does anyone know how Xmas came into being? Maybe it is that X marks the spot and Christ is the way. Still prefer to see the full word.
Actuall the X does stand for Christ.Check ther old fashioned print books such as the Dictionary.
xmas is not meant to leave Christ out…in greek the word for christ is chi and is similar to the letter x in the roman alphabet.sometimes xian is used for christian also. it never was intended to leave christ out. you find this information here…

Good idea. What I learned is that the X is the Greek letter chi which is the first letter in the word ??????? which means Christos. So, it isn’t actually the X that is Christ, just an abbreviation. I always thought it was something advertisers made up when come to find out it has been around for centuries. Thanks for the suggestion. Sometimes the obvious is obtuse.
All those question marks should be Xristós.
Hey Lovey….Please don’t take CHRIST out of CHRISTMAS….MERRY CHRISTMAS to You, and to All…..
I, ALSO, LIKE TO SEE CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS. BUT I THINK ALOT OF PEOPLE JUST PUT THE “X” THERE BECAUSE IT’S JUST FASTER. I DON’T THINK THEY MEAN ANYTHING BY LEAVING IT OUT.
CHRIST…That’s only 5 more letters…so I really don’t believe that People are in that big of a Hurry…I mean it’s not like trying to spell “Czechoslovakia”…so, just say MERRY CHRISTMAS…
LIKE I SAID…I ALWAYS PUT CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS AND ALWAYS WILL. BUT I DO KNOW SOME PEOPLE THAT SAYS THAT’S WHY THEY DO IT. GO FIGURE. DOESN’T MAKE SENSE TO ME EITHER. CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON !!
Why don’t all you folks check out what Nan and Randy G said plus what I learned then you will be enlightened as well …..
Very well said, meza! I love most all the other’s comments too.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! TO EACH & EVERYONE!!!!
@Gracie: ther’s only one “l’ in shalom.
Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year to all and sundry …. cheers…
I’m not Greek, etc. I’m an English speaking American. The Bible says
He is the CHRIST, NOT the X. Everyone has a right to their own belief,
but for me, it is CHRISTmas.
Amen to that, Margaret! I totally agree!
I speak ONLY English, too. But Greek is older than I am . So, have respect for the past. Or no one will respect you when you are the past, & possibly the present.
If you can read Greek, respect it. I can’t and so I think I’ll just respect what I know for sure. Plus, you don’t have to RESPECT the past, you just need to KNOW the past so you don’t repeat THEIR mistakes. CHRISTMAS is the word.
